    Quanti tra voi sanno dell’eccezionale scoperta archeologica nella villa dei Quintili? Si insomma la lussuosa dimora sull’Appia antica di due consoli trucidati dall’imperatore Commodo, sul fronte del parco che costeggia la via Appia antica. Allora ve lo racconto io: durante uno scavo di sistemazione sul retro del Ninfeo è riemersa una grande statua romana, in buono stato di conservazione. E’ una figura femminile scolpita nel secondo secolo d.C. Priva di testa, probabilmente sottratta nel corso di uno dei tanti saccheggi avvenuti nella tenuta quando l’area venne abbandonata e trasformata in pascolo, e con le braccia amputate… (il resto su http://www.galluzzo.it/)
